Hockey Day!

Carter had his first hockey practice on October 22. When I tried to wake him in the morning, he complained that it was too early and that he wasn't done sleeping. Then I asked him if he remembered what day it was and it only took a few minutes of silence before the blankets flew off and he announced that it was HOCKEY DAY! and he bounced out of bed. He didn't stop bouncing all day. He even had to wear most of his equipment to the daycare on the Tuesday before practice because he was so excited about playing.
As he was getting dressed in the dressing room, he of course was sitting beside his good friends Guerin and Cole. They quickly discovered that they all had some of the same equipment even their jocks. That was a huge thing! He loved playing and he came off the ice complaining that he was hot which was a good sign as he is always cold. Jaxon loved being there too, but once he saw his daddy out on the ice, that is the only place he wanted to be, out with the boys.

Carter's 5th Birthday!

Carter's 5th birthday was a very action-packed day. The theme this year was a super hero training camp. All kids came ready to dress up in their favourite super hero costume. That became a highlight of the day, being able to change costumes any chance they got. The activities for these super heroes included a super hero obstacle course, hot potato with cryptonite, a waterballoon fight (super heroes vs. villains), painting super hero masks and making super hero pizzas. The hit of the party was being able to slip and slide their way down the water park that we rented.

It was a very fun day for everyone and Carter said that it was the best party he has ever had. That makes all the work worth it.

Spruce Woods Camping - July Long

We had a great time camping with a bunch of friends. It felt like a mini Altona in our group site area. It was great fun! We had never camped there with the boys, so there was a lot to see and do. The weather was incredibly hot and muggy but that only added to the fun as every day was spent at the beach. We took in a day at the Sand Dunes, and I don't care what anyone tells you, if you go, WEAR YOR SHOES. Most of us didn't and I think I still am suffering from the burns on the bottom of my feet. But it was quite an experience. Carter loved it, especially running or sliding down the dunes.
Another highlight was the huge water gun fight with everyone, from the kids to the adults. I, luckily, had Jaxon with me, so I didn't get too wet. This will definitely be one place to add to our list of "must - do's" for the summers.
