Spring Fever!

A day after we got back from Mexico Carter had his skating carnival. He had been taking lessons all year and this was the big finale. He dressed up in sunglasses, jean jacket and skates and his group skated to "Twist and Shout". It was very cute and he was very proud.

Carter decided one day that he wanted to try shaving like Daddy does. So, he got out a shaver and the cream and went to it. after everything was said and done, he figured one time was good and that maybe he should wait a few years. I think it stung a bit. Oh well, we live and learn. He still had fun though.

Splashing in the water. It is so cold, but they don't care.

Carter had Cole over for a sleepover one day last week and when they woke up there was a layer of snow on the ground. It didn't take long and they were outside playing in it and had decided to make a snowman. They were so proud of themselves because they had made this snowman all by themselves. I came in time to snap the pictures. But, they weren't too excited about the fact that the poor snowman had pretty much melted by noon. Good try though guys! It looked great.

Even with grass to play on, the boys still love the snow. Before this picture was taken, Jaxon was face down in the snow trying to get as much of the dirty stuff in his mouth as he could. Carter thought he would help out, so he chopped up a block for him to suck on instead. Thanks bud!

His looks tell it all!

We decided that a picnic with real snacks and water would taste way better than any dirty snow.

Carter thought it would be funny to put Jaxon in this wagon and pull him around the house. Little did he know that Jaxon would love it and now it seems that is always carrying that wagon around hoping that someone will pull him.

Winter Fun!

One of the many outings this winter. Both boys refused to stay in even in the colder temps.

Carter had his friend Cole over one day and they both decided that they wanted to do some snowboarding. So, they took the one ski that fell off of his GT racer and snoboarded down a small drift. It kept them busy for quite a while and they were very proud of themselves.

Sledding at the nature pond with the Martens'. What a great time we had. Both, Carter and Jaxon loved going down the big hill, but Jody and I were not too fond of the trek back up.

After we were done sledding, we traded our snow boots and sleds in for skates and sticks and played a bit of hockey on the pond. Excellent day. Boy, were we ever tired after that day.

Keeping Busy!

We thought life was busy enough trying to keep up with Carter. But that was a breeze compared to Jaxon. Since he has been able to walk, he was tried to get into anything and everything. He finds the smallest and least possible places to crawl into. Just when we turn around thinking that he couldn't possibly get into anything, we hear a bang, crash, splash or that high-pitched whine indicating his frustration. He has so many different facial expressions that tell exactly what he is thinking and his eyes spell trouble.

To give you an idea of our life, today, I finally found our other phone which we had been looking for, in a drawer in the bathroom. The ringer had been turned off and the battery was dead. No wonder we couldn't hear it. He stores things in the craziest places. I have found toys in my casseroles, snacks in Carter's clothes drawer, diapers in my closet, toothbrushes and soap containers in our snack cupboard, and his soothers in the fridge to name just a few. Our toilet has a lock on it now, which is a good thing or else we would already have a phone, a tv remote, toy cars, a mitten, tylenol bottles, toothbrushes and water cups in it along with the full roll of toilet paper (still on the roll, straight out of the cupboard) that he actually did manage to put in there. Yes, he has tried to put ALL of those things in there.

Carter just laughs at everything Jaxon manages to get into and wonders if he was like that too. Thankfully we can say that no, he was nothing like that. Jaxon is definitely one busy boy. We can only imagine what is in store for us once he is let loose on the outside world this summer. I think we should get our rest now. Thankfully the boys get alond very well. Carter loves to play with Jaxon and is getting better about not playing so rough. Jaxon can not get enough of Carter. Wrestling matches, tag, chase, bouts of uncontrolable laughter are all a daily occurrance in our house. Never a dull moment.

Getting into the fridge. This time he actually did manage to get into the strawberries. One day I actually ended up drying a plasctic door handle and some string thanks to Jaxon who managed to slip it in without anyone noticing.

Yes, this is his way of letting me know that he is thirsty. He thinks it is so funny to be able to get water out of that spout. He looks like a baby calf.
